Packing Services
Packing is often the difference between a smooth move and a stressful one. Full-pack service wraps everything; partial-pack covers the kitchen, art, and breakables. Materials (boxes, paper, tape, wardrobe boxes) are usually billed separately.
Typical Costs
Packers cost $60-$100 per hour per packer. A full-pack on a 2-bedroom home typically runs $700-$1,400 in labor plus $150-$400 in materials. Partial-pack is a fraction of that. Book 1-2 days before pickup for full-pack service.
What Full-Pack Includes
Every item wrapped, padded, and boxed. Art and mirrors crated or specialty-wrapped. Kitchen china, glassware, and electronics packed with appropriate materials. Inventory list created. Well-run crews label every box by room and content type.
Liability Basics
If the mover packs the box, their liability on breakage is broader. If you pack the box (PBO - packed by owner), most movers exclude internal damage from coverage. This is why expensive or fragile items should be packed by the mover.
